No, it's not actual prison bars we're talking about. This bar won't be locking punters in, instead it will be serving them bespoke cocktails.
The brainchild of Inventive Productions founder, Sam Shearman, Alcotraz is a three-month immersive pop-up, taking guests into a world of 'crime and corruption'. The crime? Customers smuggling in their own booze for bartenders to make cocktails with, of course.
Located in East London's Brick Lane, the bar takes inspiration from San Francisco's famous Alcatraz prison, accommodating just 30 'inmates' at a time and replicating the mysterious and eerie atmosphere of the original.
Once inside with their smuggled booze, guests can either sit in cells or in the visitation area and sip on personalised cocktails – all in discreet containers.
'Whilst being a hugely fun experience, Alcotraz will allow visitors to experience a world only seen by most in fiction,' said Shearman.
Shutters will open on 28 September for prospective prisoners looking to do some time.
