Mixers company Long Tail is tapping into the growing interest for dark spirits by adding two new expressions to its portfolio, Hibiscus, and Lemon Sour.
Hibiscus has been made using blackcurrants and wild hibiscus flowers, creating a 'balanced mixer with a delicate combination of earthy and floral notes, rounded off with a bittersweet hint of clove'.
The company claims its new mixer pairs perfectly with rums and golden tequilas.
Meanwhile, Lemon Sour is a blend of sour lemon, orange zest and gentian (a herb), which lend the mixer a 'clean and refreshing' character.
Taking inspiration from the lemon and whisky marriage in a classic Whisky Sour, Long Tail says that Lemon Sour blends well with whiskys, bourbons and golden tequila.
Tom Wiggett, co-founder of Long Tail, commented: 'As the gin boom slows, these two new flavours give bartenders... even more freedom to experiment with dark spirits in a long-style drink that replaces their G&T.'
The new Hibiscus and Lemon Sour flavours are available through the Long Tail at an RRP of £1.30/200ml.
