The bars are joining forces to highlight women in the industry and International Women’s Day 2020’s mission #EachforEqual.

On Sunday 8 March, International Women’s Day, London bars Lyaness at Sea Containers and Artesian, at the Langham Hotel, will team up for an all-female takeover, inviting key names from the hospitality industry to come and take part.

The evening will kick off at Lyaness, with a special edition of its Sunday Lyan series of events.

From 5pm - 8:30pm brand ambassadors Ambre Morin (Grey Goose), Rebecca Sides (Bacardi), Karine Cullimore (Patron), Amanda Humphrey (Maker’s Mark), Metinee Kongsrivilai (Barcardi), and Sasha Filimonov (Hendricks) will take over Lyaness, with a menu comprised of six drinks, one from each of the team. Working in pairs behind the bar, the team will switch each hour.

Lyaness floor manager, Veronica Di Pietrantonio, said: “In what can sometimes be seen as a traditionally male space, this event is about showing that the whole industry, from brands to bars, are all one big team and want to come together to celebrate women.”

Lyaness will also be giving a donation from the drinks sold to the Women of the World Foundation.

At 8.30pm guests will be invited to take a complementary transfer to the Langham’s Artesian Bar, which will be hosting the launch party of Celebrate Her, ‘a growing collective that looks to promote gender parity, inclusion and diversity within the hospitality industry’.

The event will see drinks from the duo behind Bar Average; Cami Vidal from La Maison Wellness; Nicole Sykes (UK Bacardi Finalist); Akvilė Bieliauskaitė (Lithuanian Bacardi Finalist) and Sara Moudoulaud (Paris Bacardi finalist); Giulia Cuccurullo, the global winner from Patron perfectionist cocktail competition, and Rachel Orange from Schofield’s Bar.

Sponsors include Michter’s, Grey Goose, St Germain, Taittinger, Monkey Shoulder, Asterly Vermouth, Patron, St Germain, LVMH, Fernet Branca.

Celebrate Her is being headed up by Artesian bar manager Anna Sebastian, keep your eye on Imbibe.com for more later in the week…
