Lyme Bay sparkles with two launches

20 April 2017

Lyme Bay Winery has introduced two new… you guessed it… sparkling wines into its portfolio to 'meet growing consumer demand' for premium English wines and sparkling wine.

Lyme Bay Blanc de Noirs and Lyme Bay Sparkling Rosé will join the existing Classic Cuvée and Brut Reserve. The winery's (still white) Shoreline 2014 won Gold last year in the Sommelier Wine Awards.

'We’ve had an incredible response to our Classic Cuvée and Brut Reserve and the introduction of these two new sparkling wines is an exciting step forward for Lyme Bay,' James Lambert, managing director of Lyme Bay Winery, said.

Lyme Bay Blanc de Noirs is described as a 'serious wine'. Made using 100% Pinot Noir grapes, the red fruit characters are said to have a strong presence in this white sparkler.

The Sparkling Rosé is made by the assemblage method, which involved blending a small portion of Pinot Noir with Lyme Bay’s Blanc de Noir cuvée base wine. The red wine was produced from a small parcel of ripe Burgundy clone Pinot Noir.

The wines are all part of Lyme Bay's fruit-driven master plan, created in 2008.

Lyme Bay wines are available to purchase online and from independent retailers, select bars and restaurants.
