Magnetic Brands attracts new wave of international spirits

06 June 2017

Magnetic Brands, the brand new sales, distribution and marketing agency, is already securing distribution of a whole range of premium spirits.

The brainchild of Dave Steward and Matt Mckee – formally of Proximo UK – will work with smaller, premium drinks, looking for an 'effective brand-building partnership' to grow sales in the UK market.

Magnetic’s first client, Italy's first dedicated malt whisky distillery Puni, was launched in 2012 and is located in the Vinschgau valley of the Alps. The family-owned distillery only uses locally grown rye, which supposedly adds distinctive flavour notes to its range of three whiskies.

Sliding in next to Puni, Magnetic Brands will also be distributing Polish family-owned Vestal Vodka. We've heard the agency is already looking to create a new look for the vodka.

So, let's look at the guys behind it. With more than 25 years experience in the development of premium spirits both internationally and in the UK – including Wyborowa, Maker’s Mark, Zubrowka, The Kraken and Sapporo – Steward previously worked for Marblehead Brand Development and Pernod Ricard.

Prior to Proximo, Mckee spent seven years at Hayman. While at Proximo, as head of UK sales, he managed the UK transition of several global brands from the Diageo portfolio, including Cuervo and Bushmills Irish Whiskey.

Want to pick their brains? Based in London's Shoreditch, Magnetic also offers a bespoke consultancy service, M2, targeted as spirit brands in an early stage of development.
