Manchester-based Rockstar Spirits has announced a partnership with Majestic Wines.

The deal means Rockstar’s products will be sold online and throughout 200 Majestic stores. The partnership comes after the rum-focused spirits producer secured a “five-figure investment” from GC Business Finance. Funding has been used to ramp up production.

Rockstar’s portfolio includes flavoured rums Pineapple Grenade, Grapefruit Grenade, Two Swallows and Two Swallows Cherry. Founder Tom Hurst aimed to create drinks to mix with cola. The company is now the official partner for Coca-Cola’s Signature Premium Mixers range.

James Reed, buyer at Majestic Wines, said: 'Customers want a spirit they can connect with - not just with a mixer, but over a prolonged period of time. That includes a compelling story, an ingredients list and a seriousness and depth of flavour.'

He said Rockstar’s innovations in flavouring are 'helping to broaden the category'.
