Monin launches summer drinks programme

French syrup and fruit purée producer Monin is launching a summer drinks programme to help venues make the most of the warmer months by improving their offering of lemonade and fruit smoothies.

The programme contains a collection of tools that venues can use to 'maximise profits and create quick and cost-effective drinks', such as recipes, flavour ideas, guidance on pricing, branded PoS kits including tent cards and posters, plus a new product.

The last one to join the Monin range, the Cloudy Lemonade Concentrate is designed to be diluted into still or sparkling water to create a low-calorie drink. The brand suggests also adding Monin syrups and purées to customise the lemonade — and large-format dispensers are available if venues want to pre-batch drinks.

'We know that there is huge consumer demand for "handcrafted" style lemonades and smoothies versus canned or bottled drinks in the UK,' said Lee Hyde, Monin's beverage innovation manager. 'Ten years ago, the iced beverage demographic was 16-24; those 16-24 year-olds are now 26-34 years old and still consuming these drinks, so we want to help independent cafés, restaurants and bars to take advantage of this demand and grow their bottom line.'

He added: 'With the average spend on iced drinks at £2.79, Monin's Cloudy Lemonade Concentrare represents up to 90% gross profit per 12oz drink [c350ml], so it’s a winner on all counts.'

Monin also recently launched yuzu and blueberry fruit purées. All are available via Udal Supplies.
