New Robinsons beer with added socks appeal

Socks & Sandals might be the classic fashion faux pas but fortunately this Blonde Rye IPA of the same name is on the trendier side.

Robinsons Brewery has released a new beer in association with the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA), with the first pints served across Robinsons’ bars on 29 May.

Coming in at 5.3% abv, the brew was created in true American IPA style. The golden liquid is laced with tropical fruit and citrus notes, with the essences of peach, passionfruit and grapefruit shining through.

It’s also seriously hoppy – with its cocktail of Melba, Chinook, Nelson Sauvin and Galaxy varieties.

The new white label beer by the 179-year-old Stockport brewer is also being served at the Stockport Beer and Cider Festival, taking place on 1-3 June.

‘When we heard that Robinsons were starting the White Label series and inviting licensees and others to get involved, we always thought it was something we'd want to be involved with, especially as Robinsons is our local family brewer,’ said John Clarke, chairman of Stockport and South Manchester Branch of CAMRA.

‘The chance to be able to input ideas into the design of a beer and then see it on the bars of local pubs is not an opportunity you get very often, so it was one we definitely had to take.’
