Spiced gin brand Opihr has launched three new gins under the Regional Editions Collection, in a bid to highlight historical spice routes.
The expressions, which contain key ingredients specific to each region, are the European Edition, Arabian Edition and Far East Edition.
The European Edition combines cascarilla bark and myrrh to create an ‘aromatic and fragrant’ gin, while the Arabian Edition features black lemons and timut pepper for an ‘intense citrus and spice-led’ gin. The Far East Edition includes szechuan pepper and Indian seed-like fruit ajwain to create an ‘intense, warm mouthfeel’.
Robert Milton, global brand director for Opihr at parent company Quintessential Brands, said: ‘We know that many premium gin drinkers today enjoy exploring the gin category, but with the regional editions we’re taking a more nuanced approach to flavour than the gin category has seen of late, with spices and herbs carefully balanced to complement the juniper base flavour, not overpower it.’
The Regional Editions Collection joins the original Opihr, which was launched in 2012.
