Paragon Brands to unite bars and brand owners who ‘dare to be different’

A drinks agency aiming to unite bars and brand owners who ‘dare to be different’ has been launched by Chris Jones, founder and former commercial director of Matthew Clark’s brands distribution business.

Paragon Brands, a joint venture with leading premium wholesalers, Hammonds of Knutsford is hoping to service all your premium and craft alcohol brand needs.

Jones brings more than 22 years’ UK drinks industry experience to the table, having worked at the likes of Anheuser-Busch, Bacardi Brown-Forman, Bottega Prosecco and Voss Water.

‘Paragon Brands is a result of the contacts and knowledge I have gained over many years in this sector,’ he said. ‘There are many exciting brands from around the world who are looking for partners in the UK who can nurture their brands, support their marketing and find them the right distribution channels. We can offer retailers and operators first options on some very special drinks with unique stories to tell.'

Naud Distillery’s Hidden Loot Super Premium Spiced Rum joins the spirits portfolio. Other gems include Swedish favourite Herrljung cider and UK-based artisanal cider and liqueurs from the Cranes cranberry brand.

When it comes to beer, Paragon Brands will be nurturing, among others, European brands Spanish Moritz and Italian Castello.

‘Drinkers are beginning to see through the so-called ‘”imported” beers from big volume license-brewed beers and want to see more unusual beers with authenticity and provenance,’ Jones added. ‘With Mortiz and Castello we have found a couple of gems that the UK market will love.’
