The sixth Patrón Perfectionists Cocktail Competition will now take place in 2021, ‘in light of the current situation’
‘The Patrón Perfectionists was launched with a vision to build a community of creative and passionate bartenders who could both push the boundaries of cocktail making and showcase artisanal tequila to consumers around the world,’ said Matthew Sykes, senior director, global marketing for Patrón and founder of the competition.
‘Today we are incredibly grateful for the number of amazing people who have become part of our Patrón familia and for their contribution and achievements in elevating the drinks experience for consumers, one drink at a time. Our vision and our commitment to the community remains unchanged and throughout this time we will be working to give back to bartenders and Perfectionists around the world.’
The team behind the brand is instead channelling its efforts into supporting the sector via initiatives such as the #PatrónPantryChallenge. Currently on social media, the challenge will soon expand into an e-commerce opportunity with shoppers able to buy bundles of ingredients and learn how to make simple cocktail recipes created by the featured bartenders on Amazon.
Throughout the year, Patrón tequila will commit to initiatives designed to helping the trade, including the wider Bacardi Limited’s #RaiseYourSpirits that has pledged over $4m in aid globally.
