Led by the 66th consecutive vintage of its iconic Grange label, Penfolds is about to release the 2020 Collection
The new Collection includes the 2016 vintage of Penfolds Grange and a new addition to the range, Penfolds g4.
The latter, of which only 2,500 bottles will be put on the market at an RRP of £2,000 each, is a blend of four Penfolds Grange vintages, 2002, 2004, 2008 and 2016.
‘These four Grange vintages are amongst our favourites of the last two decades,’ commented Penfolds chief winemaker, Peter Gago. ‘All so different – in every sense, not just climatically. The synergistic blending of these vintages worked perfectly from a quality, structural and style perspective.’
‘Not playing to flagship favourites,’ continued Gago, ‘but the 2016 Grange may politely nudge the classic 2004 and 2010. It would be brazen to rank any further back into the last millennium.’
The Penfolds Collection 2020 will be available from the end of August. For more details, visit penfolds.com.
