Cornish distillery Penryn Spirits’ latest release, Bora, is a botanical rum explicitly aimed at gin drinkers

The new rum is named after the Cornish word for ‘dawn’, Bora is distilled with local botanicals including nettle and quince.

The brand says it’s designed to partner with tonic for a twist on a G&T garnished with a sprig of rosemary.

‘Following nearly a decade of dreaming, two years of experimentation and refinement, and plenty of setbacks along the way, we’ve created what we believe is a truly unique spirit,’ said co-founders Pete Mack and Willoughby Werner.

‘Harnessing the wealth of flavour offered by the natural botanicals in the Cornish landscape around us, Bora is a complex, smooth, and aromatic rum that brings something different to this burgeoning category.’

Penryn Spirits claims that the new rum is carbon-negative, as emissions are offset by planting trees in the region.
