Plumpton and Wine Intelligence team up to talk English sparkling wine

10 May 2017

Are there gaps in your English sparkling wine knowledge? You know there are challenges but you're unsure which is the biggest one? The teams at WineSkills and Wine Intelligence have created a joint seminar just for you.

Plumpton College and Wine Intelligence have joined forces to put on an English Sparkling Wine Business Seminar. The session will tell you all you need to know about current market conditions, consumer behaviour, and attitudes to the sparkling wine category in general (and English sparkling wine in particular). For the more business and financial minded, there will be a focus on this as well.

The seminar, which takes place on 26 June at the Wine & Spirits Education Trust School, will be hosted by  Richard Halstead of Wine Intelligence and Tony Milanowski of Plumpton College.

A panel of experts from different parts of the supply chain will be on hand to offer their views on key issues and opportunities facing the English sparkling wine category.

'We spend most of our working lives at Wine Intelligence helping businesses from around the world to understand foreign markets, so it’s a real pleasure to be able to offer our skill-set to our home-grown industry,' Halstead said.

'The English wine industry is going from strength to strength: vineyards and wineries are expanding to meet growing local and international demand for their excellent sparkling wines,' Milanowski added. 'So it’s vital that our industry members understand the sparkling wine market and its consumers. This seminar offers the opportunity for producers and members of the wine trade to gain the latest information and discuss the current issues facing this vibrant sector.'
