Not–for–profit organization P(our) is set to host its 2019 symposium in London for the first time. The event, which will be held on 24 June at Village Underground in Shoreditch, will this year revolve around the theme of ‘understanding’.

‘We’re excited to bring to the fore this year’s theme of "Understanding", looking at it from different perspectives – where it comes from, why it’s important, where more is needed and how it can be built,’ said co-founder Monica Berg.

P(our)'s 2019 symposium will consist of a selection of talks, demonstrations and collaborations led by some of the most prominent bar industry professionals, journalists and thinkers, all aimed at promoting equality within the industry and embracing change.

P(our) founders Alex Kratena, Monica Berg, Simone Caporale, Ryan Chetiyawardana, Jim Meehan, Joerg Meyer and Xavier Padovani have selected a stellar lineup of speakers for the upcoming 2019 symposium. It includes Jeffrey Morgenthaler, bartender; Brigitte Sossou Perenyi, documentary producer and author; and Isabella Dalla Ragione, agronomist and biodiversity expert. The full list of speakers with more details on the talks will be released closer to the event. If you're unable to make it to London, never fear, for the talks will all be live streamed.

The symposium is free to attend and tickets are set to be released in April. They'll be assigned on a first come, first served basis up to a maximum of 300 participants. Priority will be given to drinks professionals.

P(our) relies financially on contributions from industry professionals, which can be made here.
