Santo de Piedra Mezcal lands in UK on-trade

10 July 2017

Agave lovers rejoice: another mezcal is hitting our shores, courtesy of Highball Brands.

Produced by the House of Agua Piedra Mezcal & Co, Santo de Piedra Mezcal is the latest in a long line of mezcals to try their chances with the UK on-trade.

Said to have a fruity aroma of peach, apricot and grapefruit along with a subtler smokiness, Santo de Piedra Mezcal is smooth on the palate with a peppery, smokey finish.

If you’re on the fence, then its green credentials might sway you. Each bottle is handmade with recycled glass. Numbered and signed, the cynical can trace when and where their spirit was made.

Not content with that, The House of Agua Piedra Mezcal also supports the local community with its Social Good Foundation, which aims is to support local businesses to create a sustainable economic environment for those living in vulnerable conditions in Oaxaca. Tick.

‘We are extremely pleased to be working with Highball Brands and that they will be introducing us to the UK on-trade for the first time,' founder and director David Santillán Giles said. 'It’s a market we’re keen to establish ourselves in, and their experience and expertise will be integral to this.'

‘Santo de Piedra Mezcal is a great addition to our portfolio of global brands and we’re looking forward to introducing its unique qualities to the on-trade, its dedication to traditional methods to produce a high-quality product make it second to none,’ Fabrice Limon, co-founder of Highball Brands, added.
