If you ever needed an excuse to drink more beer, how about doing it for charity? Cornish brewer Sharp's has launched the fourth of its five limited release charitable beers – Rising Tide.
The brew, a Vienna red ale comes in at 4.2% abv and is described by Sharp's as having a medium body, with the sweetness of the malt balanced by fruity hop aromas – channelling ripened fruit at harvest time.
Brewed by Hayley Young, the ale is made with Vienna malt and an experimental hop exclusive to Sharp's, grow in Slovenia.
The penultimate beer to be released, Rising Tide was created to raise money to support the beaches of Cornwall, with 5p from every pint sold being donated to securing Blue Flag awards – an initiative encouraging sustainable development of beaches.
'We were delighted to relaunch Rising Tide this year after popular demand for the brew and we hope that even more people enjoy this moreish autumnal ale,' said James Nicholls, senior brand manager at Sharp's.
Rising Tide will be available to the UK on-trade until 31 October, and is available directly from Sharp's Brewery.
