Silent Pool Distillers has launched a gin with the UK’s highest concentrate of CBD
The Surrey-based firm joined forces with CBD company Green Stem to create Colorado High.
The gin is packed with 200mg of CBD oil per 500ml bottle, compared to an average of 10mg, which is not enough to produce an effect, or for the drinker to reap the therapeutic properties of CBD, the company said.
Drinking a CBD infused gin with tonic is ‘a delicious and safe way to ingest, and the perfect antidote for those that take CBD, but dislike the taste,’ explained Ian McCulloch, co-founder of Silent Pool.
It is made by blending Silent Pool’s flagship gin with CBD sourced from hemp grown in the Rockies, Colorado. The oil has a subtle bitterness that is not dissimilar to that of a grapefruit and is said to compliment the citrus botanicals in Silent Pool Gin to create a refreshing gin serve.
Simon Horth, co-founder of Green Stem, said: ‘The cloudiness of any CBD product is the best way to recognise the potency of the dosage. Many brands that claim to have CBD in their products only use minuscule amounts, rendering its effect void.
‘Consumers should always check the dosage on the bottle and the cloudiness of the liquid to know they are getting a high-quality product’.
