Spitfire Heritage Distillers launches Supermarine Vodka

12 April 2017

Ten months after the release of its gin, Spitfire Heritage Distillers is launching a vodka.

Coming in at 54% abv, Supermarine Vodka can be enjoyed neat or, ideally, from a frozen shot glass, the brand owners say. Add a splash (or three) of tonic if you aren't feeling quite that daring.

Supermarine takes its name, unsurprisingly,  from a WWII Spitfire. It is the handiwork of Cambridgeshire master distiller John Walters. 'The vodka has a smooth, creamy finish with a slight vanilla hint', Walters said. No flavours or botanicals are added.

'This vodka is of such quality we couldn’t allow it to beat at the heart of Spitfire Heritage Gin and not be appreciated in its own right,' brand owner Ian Hewitt told Imbibe. 'The gin has really taken off and we were delighted with its listing at Harrods for Christmas – so we expect great things from Supermarine Vodka.'
