'Super-premium' prosecco to launch in the UK

14 March 2017

Following the trend of our love for fizz, a super-premium DOCG Prosecco, Ombra Di Pantera, has launched in the UK.

Made with Glera grapes grown in Conegliano, Treviso, Ombra Di Pantera is described as being dry, fresh and light in the mouth and fruity profile... that definitely sounds like prosecco to us.

The highest classification for Italian wines, DOCG denotes controlled production methods and guaranteed wine quality. Only vineyards between the towns of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene in the prosecco-making region of northeast Italy are awarded the status.

'We consume 38 million bottles a year in the UK, but only now are we becoming aware of the different qualities of Prosecco,' said Francesco Vanoli, director of Ombra Di Pantera.

'Prosecco is adored year-round and sometimes it’s far too easy to pick up the first bottle off the shelf without giving any thought to the quality. We have set out to create a prosecco of exceptional quality, for genuine connoisseurs of Italian wine.'

Ombra Di Pantera is already stocked at on-trade establishments such as Sexy Fish, Caviar House & Prunier and Jak’s, with a recommended retail price of around £24.99 per bottle.
