Looking for a new mixer for your your favourite bottle on the back bar? Want to step up your non-alcoholic offerings and add some #health #inspo to your list? The latest launches in soft drinks have you covered...

Scottish tonic water extends with new flavours

Manufacturer of Scottish tonic water, Walter Gregor’s, has expanded its range with four new flavours.

Alongside Walter Gregor’s Original, the new mixers are the light and refreshing Cucumber and Mint, tangy Scottish Raspberry, autumnal Apple and Cinnamon, and Spiced, which is suited to pairing with darker spirits.

According to the brand, all the drinks in the range are made with natural ingredients including quinine, and have no artificial colour or flavours added. They are pasteurised in water baths to remove the need for artificial preservatives.

Made in Pitsligo in the north-east of Scotland, Walter Gregor’s tonic water was launched in 2015, named after a 19th-century minister and plantsman whose garden is now used to grow many of the botanical ingredients for the tonic water.

The brand, which has undergone an update to tie in with the new launches, has been achieving growth rates of 225% since its launch, and the company has invested £150,000 in an automatic bottling line to meet anticipated future demand.

New tea drink features CBD extract

A new soft drink made with cannabidiol (CBD) extract has been launched into the UK on-trade by Botanic Lab as part of its new botanical tea drink range.

The drink combines sour cherry and floral hibiscus with CBD extract, a naturally occurring cannabinoid constituent of the cannabis sativa plant. CBD has become popular in alternative medicine for its reported health benefits, including the reduction of anxiety, although it is not psychoactive and will not get you high.

All the products in the botanical tea drink range contain a functional botanical ingredient combined with fruits, herbs and spices. The other drinks are Yerba Maté, Green Tea and Damiana. They are all free from refined sugars, artificial colours, flavours and sweeteners.

Each Cannabidiol Botanical Tea drink contains 2mg of hemp CBD extract, which, says Botanic Lab, is 'an amount ideal for general health maintenance'.

Lo Bros grows in UK with Greene King

A range of kombucha soft drinks originating from Australia is gaining UK on-trade distribution through a new deal with Greene King.

From 24 October, two Lo Bros Kombucha variants, Original and Ginger & Lemon, will be available in 170 Greene King pubs within the company’s Urban Local and Premium Local sites in London.

Kombucha, for the uninitiated, is a fermented tea drink. Lo Bros makes its range of kombuchas by adding a live culture to sweetened green tea.

Containing less than 1g of sugar per 100ml and more than 100m living cultures in every bottle, Lo Bros Kombucha is organic, dairy free, gluten free and vegan. The Ginger & Lemon variety includes organic ginger juice and natural lemon extracts.

The range was originally created by the Lo brothers in Melbourne. The company introduced its products to the UK earlier this year, with production in Berkshire and distribution by Soulfresh UK. Other flavours include Raspberry & Lemon, Passion Fruit, and Apple.

RRP£3.40/330ml, Soulfresh UK,
