Viña Ventisquero releases three new wines in the UK

29 September 2017

Viña Ventisquero is launching three new wines in the UK market, including a Grey Sauvignon Blanc 2017, Queulat Cinsault 2016 and Reserva Pais Moscatel 2015.

Produced by Chile's most northern vineyards in the Atacama Desert and old bush vines in the deep southern regions of Itata and Maule, the wines are said to showcase the diversity of Chile's winemaking landscape.

The Grey Sauvignon Blanc (£14.99) hails from Huasco in the Atacama Desert and the Queulat Cinsault (£12.99) is from the Itata Valley. The Reserva Pais Moscatel (£9.99) is from the Maule Valley, with no other winery in Chile producing this blend.

Founded in 1998, Viña Ventisquero owns vineyards in some of Chile’s key wine producing regions, with the Tara wines from the Atacama desert having gained recognition worldwide.

With a team of consultants including Aurelio Montes, Eduardo Silva, Roberto Pizarro and soil expert Pedro Parra, the company’s resident team of viticulturalists are said to have identified the best vineyard sites and individual blocks for the different grape varietals.

The wines will be available in the next few months.

In July, Imbibe reported a ‘triple whammy’ will mean Chilean price rises.
