Westons Cider has appointed Geoff Bradman, pictured right, to its board of directors, in the new role of commercial director.
Bradman, who joined the company in 2012 as head of sales, will now be responsible for overseeing the cidermaker’s continued roll-out to international markets, alongside looking after UK commercial interests. He will also take on the position of managing director of Westons World Brands, the Australian subsidiary of Westons Cider.
Westons says it has enjoyed steady growth since 2012, with turnover up by 40%, while UK market share is now 5%. Its ciders are now available in 40 markets globally.
Helen Thomas, Westons managing director, said: 'Geoff has successfully developed the Westons commercial proposition both in the UK and internationally and his new role gives the business consolidation and focus right the way across the sales and marketing functions.'
Bradman said: 'While the cider market is currently flat, the traditional premium sector of the market in which we operate is in strong growth, currently growing by 7% year-on-year. We’ve got ourselves into a really strong position as category leaders of this sub-sector of the market and we’re well placed to grow all areas of the category further.'
Bradman’s previous roles include a position as joint managing director of Aspall, and senior sales and marketing roles at Holsten Brewery, William Grant & Sons UK and Bulmers Cider.
Family-run Westons produces brands including Stowford Press, Wyld Wood, Henry Westons, Old Rosie and Mortimers Orchard. In February, Westons launched the UK’s first craft cider in a can, Caple Rd Cider.
