Wild Thyme Spirits launches Colonsay Gin Bramble Liqueur

Wild Thyme Spirits has launched a new blackberry-based liqueur as part of its Colonsay Gin range.

Trialled late last year as miniatures, the gin liqueur has now been released in its own 50cl bottle by husband and wife team Finlay and Eileen Geekie, who run Wild Thyme Spirits on the small Scottish island.

Sitting at 20% abv, its partly made using foraged blackberries from hedgerows across Colonsay island in the Hebrides where the gin is distilled, and partly from brambles from Speyside in North Scotland.

Finlay and Eileen Geekie say their bramble liqueur derives inspiration from the ancient Scots tradition of the 'tree calendar' in which the bramble vine represented the month of Muin - or September - as this was when bramble fruits were gathered.
