Xavier Rousset MS's next venture is to be a 'small wine restaurant' called Blandford Comptoir. It will open at the end of May on Blandford Street, in London's Marylebone.
The restaurant will sit 40 to 45 covers and will serve Meditarranean-influenced food in small and large plates – but not tapas style.
The 250-strong wine list will feature bins from all around the world, with 40 to 50 champagnes. Rousset told Imbibe some of the list will be 'interactive', with some bins chosen by customers and well-known names from the wine world. There will also be wine-inspired cocktails on offer.
This is Rousset's first project since leaving 28°-50° and Texture last year, of which he was co-founder. This time he will be in sole charge.
‘It’s just me and some investors,’ he told Imbibe. 'It's not a joint venture. And we won't grow too quickly, just take it easy and see how it goes.'
A second venue is planned to open at the end of July in the City, near Bank station.
